Hi All,

Seven days until bear season starts here in Maine. Anyone out there going, and if so, how are you doing it? Are you doing all the work (bait, tracking, etc.) yourself or using a guide service? And if you're going, where are you going, have you been there before, any pictures from past successes, what gun/s are you taking, etc. etc. etc.

I'm down in the Standish, ME area and will be giving it another go this year near home. Last year I had one at the bait site, but it was only coming in at night and couldn't change its pattern, so I went bearless. This year I've relocated to a different spot and will hopefully have better success. Let's hear from you.

I wish I was going to Maine to hunt black bear. I have a Massachusetts bear tag but I really have not hope of getting one. The odds are very much dead set against you.
