Ok, Ok...am I the last person on earth to know about this bullet?  And why is it listed under rifle bullets on Hornady's site?  I can almost guarantee it will work.  There is plenty of room in the chamber, even using .360 Dan Wesson brass.  (Which is the brass I'm using)  I would call Hornady and ask about the speed that this bullet will perform best, I know I'll be on the phone with them in the morning.  Man, something else to play with!

BTW, if you want brass, call Starline and order it.  I got an email from them last week saying they would make another run as soon as they had enough orders.

The 180gr SSP is a single shot pistol bullet, it's been discussed before, it should perform fine in the 360DW, it works in the 35 Remington at considerably more velocity, so it may be a little hard for 357mag velocities.

I have been using the 180SSP since it came out. I have killed a bunch of deer with it in the 357 Herrett, 357maxi and 35Rem. I have found that at close range and 2200+ velocities its a bit fragile on bigger bones. Never lost any game with it, (actually the Maxi is on a run of bang flops) but the bullet is coming apart. Accuracy was always excellent. I like the hi-shoulder shot. This takes out the shoulder and spine, lots of bone. Drop the POI down and or back a bit and you will see the kind of results Tim's pics show.

I also like the Speer 180SP designed for the 35Rem caliber, but you need higher velocities than the 357mag or maybe the DW can achieve. 2100fps minimum is my guesstimate. Its definitely a stronger constructed bullet. That same hi-shoulder shot results in nickle sized exits.

Another good bullet for the lower velocities is Hornady's 158XTP FP bullet. IIRC its rated for 2100 top velocity. It works GREAT in my 357 Marlin on deer. So should be just as good for yours and that DW.

Give it a try, I think you too will love it!!

Thanks Tim and CW for the info.  That is some helpful stuff!  Maybe I'll get a chance to try some before deer season starts. Now that you mention it, I have seen SSP's mentioned on here before, just didn't realize what it was...duh.  Guess I should ask more questions.
