Lots of Deer
« on: October 11, 2009, 05:17:06 PM »
Just back from working at my cabin north of Winnett.  Still iching from putting up insulation.  Jon, you know exactly where I'm talking about.  Sat. evening I looked out the front window and saw a bunch of deer and a big boy.  Grabbed the binocs and counted 39 deer and a spike elk north of me, looked east and counted 41.  Had groups of deer crossing my property and this morning had a doe and her yearling pass within 30 feet of my porch.  Watched them for about 4-5 min before they dropped over the hill, then about 10 min later they came back and passed again.  Only have 3 tags for this area and my 15 year old has the same, so I think it's gonna be another good year for hunting.  DP

Yep, I do know where you mean.  I actually miss that area, and maybe will put in for antelope rifle tags for that area next year.
