Firearms declaration on IRS 1040
« on: October 09, 2009, 06:02:18 AM »
I've just received a disturbing e-mail. Would someone more savvy at this mind checking it out?  This is the gist of it: Senate Bill SB-2009 requires listing on 2009 IRS1040 tax forms all guns you have or own. Requires fingerprints & $50 tax per gun. Was introduced Feb.24, 2009 but only will become public 30 days after becoming effective as an ammendment to the Internal Revenue Act of 1986. (Which means that the Finance Committee has passed it without the senate voting at all.) For full text: http://www.senate.gov/  Search by senate bill SB-2009.  Also: http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c111:HR45  (sorry I don't know how to make links, I'm not that savvy)   For text of Blair Holt's Firearms License and Record of Sales Act of 2009:   http://www.opencongress.org/bill111-h45/text      Also: http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?bill=h111-45     Another site: GovTrack.ushttp://govtrackus        This basically makes any rifle with a clip, or ANY pistol illegal unless you subject yourself to physican & mental evaluation at any time of their choosing. Each change of ownership costs $25 tax. Fairure to comply: Loose right to own firearms plus 1 yr in jail.   Child clause: ...locked and inaccessable to children under 18. (They would have authority to come and "inspect". Failure to comply: 5 yr prison term.   If any of you folks have the time to check this out and find it to be correct, we need to start harping long and loud.
