Leupold VX-I Shotgun Scope

I am considering buying a Leupold VX-I Shotgun Scope to put on my Savage smokeless muzzleloader.  They sell for $209 at Bass Pro and Cabelas.  I have some questions.

1.  Is this a good choice for a muzzleloader scope?  My shots will be 150 yards or less.

2.  What mounts/rings should I use?  Are the Leupold mounts/rings a good choice?  Or should I consider something else?

3.  Are the Leupold scope covers worth the money ($80 for both front and rear covers)?  Or will the Butler Creek (much cheaper) work well?

1.  Is this a good choice for a muzzleloader scope?  Yes!

2.  What mounts/rings should I use?  Are the Leupold mounts/rings a good choice? Leupold mounts should work fine.  There are other all steel products out there that should fit a Savage muzzlelaoder.  The Weaver Grand Slam bases with the Warne Maxima rings is a good combo.
 
3.  Are the Leupold scope covers worth the money ($80 for both front and rear covers)?  Or will the Butler Creek (much cheaper) work well?  I just use the $8 Butler Creek Bikini cover.  Works great and the price is right.  If you are getting the Leupold VX-I 1-4x20mm shotgun scope a TINI should work.

Old post but I have one and it should be good for muzzleloader. I can hardly see a 2" circle at 50 yds. so it isn't good for precision shooting but good for bear and deer in low light.
