Maddow: Democrats may revoke leadership of anyone who filibusters healthcare

On MSNBC's Rachel Maddow Show Wednesday night, Maddow broke an exclusive story on the battle for health care reform, and declared, "This is cracking heads time in the Democratic Party."

"We can report exclusively tonight, that two major power brokers on the left have told MSNBC that they are encouraging a Senate strategy now, in which the leadership would revoke chairmanships and other leadership positions from any Democrat who sides with a Republican filibuster to block a vote on health reform," Maddow said.

Not revealing the names of her sources, she continued, "Regardless of how individual senators would vote ultimately on the bill, committee chairmen or subcommittee chairmen who allowed Republicans to force a 60-vote requirement for passing health care...under this type of strategy would be in danger of losing their chairmanships."

How big a deal is being tossed off a chairmanship spot? Well, as Maddow puts it, "That would be the Senate equivalent of busting a Lieutenant Colonel down to Private."

The plan that essentially is intended to shame Democrats into supporting health care reform, Maddow says.

Just another disgusting example of doing what is right for America has no bearing on what they do or how they govern.

Heard several Democrats in the last few days saying we are going to pass a bill no matter what. When asked enen it it contains nothing of major importance? they replied "YES we will pass one NO MATTER WHAT IS IN IN because we are not going to let the Republicans shut us down!"

Common Sense would tell all on both sides to can it for now and start reworking it until you get one that contains changes for  the better. How aboiut trying to eliminate the fraud and waste first. How about looking to cover the uninsured with some other means than total destruction of the system we have. No they are not goiung to entertain that, no sir, they are going to totaly screw up the system not even covering 1/2 of those they claim they want to and put heavy cost on everyone else.

It makes absolutly no common sense.

Thats what kind of leadership Congress has. It is a disgrace. I think this health care debate has exposed to all americans just how selfish and self serving they are in Congress. We the people are really meaningless to them.

This is nothing more that an all out assault on America and its long held values and attempt to bring us to a Socialist Form of Government.

I am real sup prized they don't throw them completely out of office for a filibuster. Yes before anyone says they can't because they were voted in, stop and think has it mattered in the past. The very point of them still considering the Health care thing is stupid the people have spoke and it has been turned down it's time to move on to new business. Leave it to Nancy peNOISY to beat that dead horse, maybe she will beat it till she actually looks better than the dead horse.
