Synthetic forend
« on: October 11, 2009, 05:47:43 AM »
I have a 20ga.USH, I would like to do something different that I havn't seen and that would be a synthetic stock & forend. But I'm not shure what synthetic forend would fit the heavy 20ga.barrel. Has anyone done this or Know what will fit witout any modifacation?

I've got a standard syn forend on my TDC, the barrel is 1.006" at the forend stud, I had to sand it out a bit to get it to fit, particularly at the rear since there's very little difference between the chamber swell diameter which is 1.1" and the barrel.

So if I order one from H&R should I just ask for one for a TDC. A little sanding would be OK.

No, you want a Handi forend if your barrel measures close to the diameter of the TDC at the stud, it didn't take much sanding and if you float it with a spacer of some sort on the stud, maybe no sanding.  I'd order it from Brownell's, Midway or Choate depending on the total price with shipping, H&R sold it for $17.50 last year but they charge $10.50 shipping, or just get one in the classifieds here.  ;)
