screw size
« on: October 09, 2003, 05:32:58 PM »
I have a 1902 rem rolling block that was in 7mm. It will be rebarreled. Does anyone know the thread size of the tang screw? I get 26 tpi, but I can't find that in the tap and die charts. Thanks.  :P

Rolling Block tang screw

It has been a while since I've checked, but that tang screw should be 1/4-28 size.  Even the licensed oreign- manufactured actions used English SAE sized screws.

If the thread pitch is really 26, it is probably 1mm, which might make the screw an M6x0.1.  Check that easily enough with a 6mm screw.
