Pawn shop find

I rarely visit pawn shops, usually over priced junk.
Yesterday I found a nice Ruger, not that I needed another 44mag, part of the draw to the gun is the 2-7X burris scope will be nice on one of my Remington XP-100s and I have a Leupold 4X in the gun parts drawer.

I am picturing wood grips on it and replacing the ejector rod housing.

I would try those Pachmyers first, that squared trigger gaurd is nown to rapp the finger. ???  Probly why they were put on to start with.  I agree that is an ugly ejector rod housing.  Looks like a real find. 8)

Congrats on that gun!  I have owned a couple of Ruger Mag-na-port Stalkers and loved them.  I took second place in the 150 yd revolver at the Rupert challange many years ago with my Ruger Stalker.  This was a match that specified no target guns but 'bring what you hunt with'.  My go to gun now is a Mag-na-port Stalker on a Freedom Arms .44 mag.  I'm sure you will enjoy that gun.  (Yes, get that ejector housing changed!)  44 Man

So far I have had no luck finding a stainless ejector rod housing.

Go to the Ruger website, get it directly from Ruger. 8)

 I assumed that since the one on my handgun was aluminum the factory replacement would be aluminum also

You could also call Mag-na-port and ask them about one.  The girls there are very knowledgable and will help you out if they can.  Be sure and tell them that the gun has NOT had the velvet hone finish applied.  Your gun is the stock Ruger finish I'm sure. 
If you call Ruger, be sure to specify it's for the long barreled stainless Super.  It shouldn't be too hard to find one.  Good luck and enjoy that gun!  44 Man

  Are you positive that one is aluminum?  The blued ones usually were but the silver ones were stainless.  That one simply appears to be bead blasted for the dull matte finish. regardless, buy from Ruger or MidwayUSA.  Will proberly need to know the holding screw size.

I am sure the ejector rod is aluminum. Last evening I removed it and sanded on it awhile trying to get it to more resemble the stainless finish on the gun. Not happening, time to replace it!
