Howdy Marsh
The twist is as the orignal, i think it is 1turn in 30some inches not sure.
It is supposed to shoot the original 250 gr. bullets, with blackpowder speed they keyhole , so i step it up 23 grs. Imr 4759 it shot about 4" at 50yds. but with a flyer now an then, about 1700 fps over my chrono.
Then i loaded Imr 3031 35grs. same 250 grain bullet it the most terrible group you have ever seen it was at least an 18" group didn't chronograpgh
them.
I had ordered a box of 200 gr. jacketed they came the other day so i loaded them up same load 35gr. 3031 they shot pretty dogone good 11/2"
So here i am trying to get an address for a cast 200 gr.or 220. gr.lead bullet. before i by a mould that won't work.
I've been messing with gun off an on for a couple of years ,buffalo arms is where i got my cartridges.
Saeco has a 220gr mould ,but i don't want buy it and it don't work.
I also have a Model 1936 Marlin relined to 38-55 very light rifle it shoots an honest 2" at 100yds of the bench.
Relined by the same fella and shooting the same bullets 250 gr. Miester
and home cast lubed with SPG.
I'm going to order 220gr sierras and see if they work and then i'll go from there.
Thanks for listening to me
