On my elk trip a week back or so, We saw a lot of Turkeys. They seem to be doing rather well. How is it looking in your area?

I live and hunt in north Idaho.  I have seen more turkeys this fall then I ever have before.    Seems they are showing up in new areas around here each year.  Looking good.

We don't have much turkey hunting in Wyoming, but for a few areas. Most of the open season is in spring for general tags in a few areas. The rest is limited lottery draw. Areas that have high numbers of turkeys are closed to hunting turkeys as well as pheasants. I'm guessing to build up the flocks. I never see turkeys in the fall, but always run into pheasants in the Northwest corrider, which is closed. Fish and Game had plans last year to put some turkeys in the Meteetsee area, but I'm sure the area will be closed to hunting them for a long time.
