storing guns for possible shtf times
« on: October 17, 2009, 07:44:47 AM »
  i do some..heres a caution.. i went an got my best 110 savage 06 ,,that i stored with a perfect 200 zero..
the things i used to attach it were against the barrel an also the scope..
i was real surprised to find the rifle 3 inches to the left,,when i shot it yester day..
its no problen as the rifle an 4-12 bushnell adjust so easy that i adjusted yesterday..knowing that the gun an scope probably will find its original form todah in the gun closet..i ll just set it back like it was..
but this might oughta be considered when hiding a gun for future use.. slim
ps... the big factor here may be that its a light sports model..

Hi
That can happen to wood stocked rifles if the stock is not sealed everywhere. Under the butt plate, the barrel channel, any place that can lose moisture. The stock can dry out some and stress the barrel and action differently than before. synthetic stocks prevent this problem.
