Obama's speech in New Orleans
« on: October 15, 2009, 08:33:24 AM »
I dont know if anyone else is currently watching His Excellency's speech right now but my blood pressure is already so high I had to walk away. He's already blamed the previous administration for Katrina and apparently N.O. is the ONLY place in the USA to overcome a disaster.  l'm beside myself right now.

The thing that I find distasteful about the Katrina issue is that the responsibility for preparation and immediate relief goes to state and local resources. The negligence at those levels was stunning, and was also quickly ignored by the news outlets because it was an opportunity to blame Bush. There are many things to blame Bush for, but this was not one of them.

Beyond that, the recovery from Katrina is being handled so incompetently by New Orleans and the state of Lousiana that lasting negative effects can only be blamed on them.

Is Obama proposing a New Orleans stimilus plan?

no human can be responsible for a natural disaster. the response was the problem and the local and state were idiots. then the federal government. common sense will tell anyone with an ounce of brains that the sheer magnitude of the damage was such that it overwelmed the whole system. when you look at the whole of bush administration as for as crap that happened he was faced with one hell of a lot of problems that were not his fault and i think he did fairly well all things considered.

i have a daughter living Lacombe louisiana they lost their home and several rental homes as wel as a business and warehouse . gone total destruction the pictures that she sent were unbelievable. it was that way all up and down the coast in inland for miles . it was not just new orleans but that all you hear about thousands and thousands of homes businesses and infrstructure from florida to texas. it was a storm of enormous damage and it simply overwhelmed the entire systems of all goverments. stae local national. then they say the response the response they failed in response....hell the roads had thousands of trees homes bricks in them for the thousands of miles of highways that had to be cleared off so something could even start to happen. then no power thousands of miles of power lines some are still not in service this day. nobody nobody could have made it all just right in 3 days not even the new nessiah obama.

so the politicians do what they always do they tried to buy them off,......give them this checks ..plan tickest and promiosies of rebuilding New Orleans....just to watch it sink again in the future. most of the money for new orleans was stuck in the pockets of nagin and his family and never went to the people he was swearing he was there to help and serve4... christ the whole mess makes me want to puke. obama is just there to buy support..hand out a billion here and there.

There was such a lack of personal responsibility.  So many people were waiting to be helped.  Why can't people take on the responsibility of taking care of themselves?  I know, what are you thinking?

It kills me to hear the whining because people are losing their FEMA trailers.  Those folks need to look at the people in Galveston.  They need to get off their can and fix their situation.  B.O. just promotes the mentality of the government being the answer for everything.  Sad.

I was in the hospital here in Beaumont recovering from heart surgery when Katrina hit N.O. I watched the people gang up in the super dome like it was some kind of party. I also watched the press conference where the governor and the mayor of New orleans told everyone to get out before it hit! I also saw hundreds of school buses under water after the flood came! It was a comedy of errors by the local government and the individuals who just camped out and then blamed "W" for the hurricane!

Its been a three years now and the Ghettos are still trashed! sounds like the local government is still a bunch of clowns and the people most of whom went to Houston are still there keeping the crime statistics up.

We got trashed by Rita then Ike and my little home town of Bridge City had 95 % of its homes flooded has mostly rebuilt and that was 1 year ago!

They can whistle dixie as far as I'm concerned! thats the nicest thing i can say!

obama is a clown as well!

Personally, I can't stomach how the media acts as if N.O. was the only area affected.  I know there were other areas that suffered as much, if not more then N.O.  It makes me sick.

Yea I remember the racist remark that the racist mayor of New Orleans made!

He used the phrase "chocolate city" in reference to New Orleans' future demographics !

This is the kind of racists that dont want Rush Limbaugh to own a NFL Team!

Frankly if the NFL and its supporters disappeared tomorrow I would not miss it!

If New Orleans disappeared tomorrow I wouldn't miss that either!

oldshooter i graduated from stark high in orange have a daughter in Mauriceville and grandkids in Pt. Neches.I was raised in silsbee . friends and family all over in that neck of the woods...one brother was in Bridge City now in newton he was was wiped out katrina then Ike.

only those like us that lived down there understand the mentality if the 9th ward in NO and the others in east texas who still are screaming"you owes me wheres my FEMA?"

when they were handing out the 500 dollar credit cards to any that walked up they just went town to town saying "i wuz wipeds outs ands my homes is gone"" and they did not check to verify and many picked up 10 credit cards.....what a joke! Nagin in NO should be run out of town on a pole along with that worthless woman governer they had.
