New contender and fng saying hello
« on: October 14, 2009, 04:34:08 PM »
I just agreed to swap one of my stripped AR lowers for a stainless contender frame/grip/forearm sans barrel...

I'm picking it up Saturday morning.  The current owner doesn't know much about it, as it was his father's.  From the pictures I can't classify the generation either.  Its one of the stamped "engraved" cougar models.

I'm thinking initially a 204 barrel for prairie poodles and one of the JDJs for whitetail...

I've been hesitant to pick up a contender in the past because I have a gun addiction.  This is gonna get expensive!

Yes it will.   ;D
All I can tell you is if you see a barrel you want for sale by Tad, the barrel is in better condition then he discribed and great guy to shoot with.
I started out with one 223 barrel and now have 5.
The JDJ's are neat but don't over look the grand old 30-30 or the 44Mag.
Congrats on your trade.
Welcome to the addiction.
With the F'n hello are you from jersey too?   ;D

Yea I bought mike a couple of months ago and I have 2 barrels now, but I've saved some money and going to he Tulsa gun show next month to buy reloading supplies and who knows what else.  I'm looking for 410 and 44 mag reloading supplies.  You cant shoot either one without reloading.  Congrats on you purchase.
