since i brought it up, i'll start..
here is my 1979 contender, awaiting its new barrel.
i drilled out the screw hole and grip, replaced the screw with a sling stud.
i cut the factory forend down for the 30-30 barrel that i had, but other then that its factory stock.

After TC DAVE I kinda feel a little inadequate...  Well, heres mine.  After selling all the ones I don't play with anymore this is what I have left.  The one on top is a rechambered factory 45-70 in 450 marlin with a Vais brake.  The one on bottom is factory 25-06 with a Vais brake.  Those Vais brakes make a huge difference in both recoil and noise.  The wood is custom made by me and it is my first ever time working with gun wood.

Ok, I admit it, I'm shameless,

Here's my latest addition. New wood, old barrel and frame. The wood is from another site, Georgia Jim wood. My old 22 hornet barrel and frame...

Drool......No wonder it's so hard to find a beauty-ful Encore...Dave has drained the market dry! Gives me something to shoot for (pun intended)...the 6.5x284 groups are lucious as well...
thanks for the photos.

Makes me too shy to post pics of my two octagon barreled Contenders. Pardon me while I wipe the drool off my keyboard and desk. Just a bunch of fine looking Tenders !!

That Dave has some REAL hardware.   WOW.
Here are my 2 Encores
The Purple one is a .308
The Red one is in .22-250 (It is for sale in Encore Classifieds if you are interested )

The Purple stock is by High Plains Gunstocks -- Fabulous work and handgrip is Sweet
The Red stock is by Ole GA Jim -- Again Fabulous work and the handgrip is Sweet , too.

Ole GA Jim must have retired because I can't find his website on the internet anymore...
