  Hi everybody, just wanted to know if anyone has used the 210gr Speer GDHP bullet on deer sized game? I was out target practicing the other day and trying to find a load that would shoot real well out of my Marlin 1894FG and my Ruger Blackhawk Hunter. I reload for the .41 magnum and while shooting this bullet I became very pleased with the accuracy.....

I have not used this exact diameter, but the GD 44 & 45 versions work VERY well!!

For me the XTP and SPEER 210's W/296 have been its steady diet for many years.

I have only used the GDSP in 44mag. and they did great 3 deer in 3 days.I also shoot the 94FG the best load for me is 210 sierra JHC, have only shot one deer with it so far,the GDHP did not shoot that well in my gun. But with the GD in the .41 I would not worry, dead deer walking.

My FG liked a handloaded Gold Dot as well, I only shot one deer with it and range was just this side of 100yds.  That bullet went through a near rib and smashed the lungs, the deer made a running circle of maybe 20 yards diameter and piled up.  I thought the bullet had passed through but it had broken an off-side rib and rebounded back into the chest cavity.  I felt the broken rib and figured it had exited, then must have dumped the spent bullet out.  Wish I'd have looked more carefully.  Couldn't ask for more than that, but I turned to Speer 220 JSP's which are just as accurate if not more so.
