Deer hunting question.

Do you ever hunt the same spot more than three days in a row? Do you believe if you do, that spot will be avoided by deer? A friend of mine commented that after three days deer will pattern you before you learn of their patterns. He is very successful and takes his limit for the most part.

I am wondering if after several years of use that a couple of my stands sites are now avoided? Any comments?

Well, I've hunted out of the same stand for the last 6 years. I taking deer every year out of it. I am in this stand just about every time I am in the woods (well 75% of the time).  I will see deer from it from the 1st part of the season (mid Oct.) thru the end of November (end of the rut). Have not had good luck from Decemember on.
So do they pattern me, perhaps that is why they disapper in Decemember or does their range move. I don't know.

i have very much noticed a drop in number of sighted deer after useing the same stand 3 days in a row. however i dont think yu have anything to worry about from year to year. ive been useing the same few stands for 20 some years and always take plenty of deer from them.

A good stand  can be hunted as often as you like but should be "rested" some. IMO.

Hunt a stand to hard and you will soil it. The Deer see you long before you see them when coming and going. Try to look at it like if someone kept coming into your front room everyday. Would you notice someone sitting on top of the t.v. ... Well the woods is the deer's front room they know just as you would.

Unless you're lucky enough to get rain every night after you hunt the stand, you're leaving scent behind that makes them more aware every time you go in and stink the place up. Resting the stand lets that scent dissipate.

There really is no single right or wrong answer to the question. If the stand is close to the path you expect deer to travel as with a bow stand then for sure you could stink it up and ruin it for a day or three. If the travel path is much further away as for a rifle stand or especially for a stand over looking a green field it's much less likely.

But really if the stand is set up properly and if you enter and leave from the opposite direction you expect deer to travel to you from and if the wind direction is appropriate for that stand then in reality even a bow stand is difficult to mess up that way.

So the real answer is it depends.
