gilly,
First thing, my friend, if you haven't already done so, is for you to sign up for a Hunter's Safety Course!  Once you have that in hand you can go down to any sports store and get a junior hunting permit if allowed in your state.  Then you can shop with your Dad's supervision, or an older brother, for a Mossberg 500 pump gun either in a combination package w/ 2 barrels (field and rifled for deer) or the single barrel field model with 3 chokes.  I would recommend you get a 20 gauge youth model that comes w/ shortened stocks.  You will get a certificate for 50% off the cost of full-size stocks when you're ready for the full length stock combination.  I recently purchased such a gun for my grandson who turned 13 this year, and he's already been turkey hunting with his granddad.  We also took the Bow-Hunter's Course together here in New York State so he can deer hunt early....before the age of 16.

Good Luck and hunt safely!!!!

Jim
