Archery "09" Any luck yet guys?
« on: October 06, 2009, 07:51:55 AM »
I got out twice since the 1st ... First evening that storm that ended up being a tornado watch in the Little Rock area later that evening was over head while i was hunting and had the wind swirling something feirce so my 100% for sure doe for the freezer didnt happen ... Next i was out two days ago and my other hunting spot was flooded by all this damn rain, So i decided to make a quick move before daylight to a higher ground location i had scouted last year and got the truck buried 3 feet deep in a mud hole, Yeah that was a blast let me tell you!

Has anyone else had the same rotten luck as me so far ?

Have any of us had some good fortune with all this damn rain ?

 Lets hear about it guys..

Just up here in Pa. Out for 2 days so far. I go in the AM, come in and rest\snooze, and then go back out for the PM. I don't go out every day....depends on how I feel.

But, on Monday I saw three Buck deer. One nice shooter (legal here is 4 to a side.....this one you could'a picked either side and "won"  ;D ) and two smaller "Y" forkers. None were in the range of a good shot.

On Saturday I had a nice doe (freezer meat) milling around me for about 10 minutes. But for now I'm looking for one with horns. Lots of time left to whack a doe.

I like this time of year. Spend the mornings out. You see a lot of nature. Talk to God. He talks to you....not in so many words, but if you listen, he's talkin.

Took my 3 year old daughter out ( after we picked her up a camo jacket pants and rubber boots) to go scout an area i thought about hunting last year and didnt , we ended up spotting 13 doe , No bucks yet ... Sat out this evening and the only doe that showed up did so at bayonet range and I couldnt see my pin due to lack of light .. Bah I know damn the bad luck ;)
Think that might be the motivation i need to red dot the X bow ..

im having the same rotten luck so far, seen a few but just havent got it to all come together for a clean shot on one. the stand i normally hunt every year is usually covered up with does and yearlings and this year theres hardly any, the ice storm really wrecked the timber here and im not finding any acorns at all.

Default,

Same on the possum. The only difference is.....and don't ask me for my logic....when I'm bowhunting, I will fling an arrow at a raccoon. But I refuse to stick one into a possum. I dunno, I just hate the idea of having to clean off the arrow of all that possum gack.

Must have been from a bad childhood possum memory.

When I use my flinter, I can hit the paper targets real good. But put something that I can eat in front of me and it's a whole different story.

Keep loadin 'n shootin Default. You'll hit 'em.
