30-30 velocity

Has anyone chronographed remington 30-30 150 grain corelokt in a standard handi?  I know their web site says 2390 fps but that might be a 16" barrel and the handi is 22"

Wow only 2330. No wonder it felt like a 22 compared to my handi 30-06 with 180 corelokts!  Those loads really lit me up off the bench

The factory numbers are from a 24" test barrel and pretty much no one ever actually gets the numbers any of the factories state for their .30-30 ammo. In reality darn few factory loads in any caliber deliver what is promised of them in our rifles. Hornady Light Magnum ammo is an exception and unless your barrel is significantly shorter than their test barrel you will get what is promised and at times more.

One other I've noticed exceeding factory promises is Remington 7-08 140 grain core loct data. It has matched factory numbers for me in 15" Encore barrels even.

does that include BC barrels GB? I've gotten higher than spec out of Win 300 gr factory, but under for LeverEvolutions. (Those are the only tow factory loads I've shot from it)
