Encore .45/410 15 inch barrel

thinking of trading a .22-250 barrel for a 45/410 Encore.  question is probly stupid but can a 454 casul be shot in this barrel also?? thanks could not find any thing in search.

The cartridge will fit and it will fire.  I don't know if the barrel will handle the pressure. 
If I agreed with you then we would both be wrong.

It may be OK in an Encore, it is not ok in a Contender.  But why?  It is still a good jump to the rifling, so will not tend to be all that accurate.  You are better off getting a barrel made for the round.

Since both of them headspace on the rim you could probably even fire a 460 smith as it is shorter than a .410 anyway.  The deciding factor is where the rifling starts.

I asked JD Jones Owner of SSk this same question and he said that no one should do it. the chambers are too sloppy for that kind of pressure.

 you will get a lot of split cases and blow back.
