US Springfield
« on: November 04, 2009, 07:40:49 AM »
I know this is not a handgun related question, but not sure the place to post.  I am an avid handgun hunter but have recently received from my grandfather the following:

US Springfield Armory Model 1899 (serial number is 284994). There is a "60" stamped in the wood behind the trigger. 1901 is also stamped in the wood.  Does anyone know the caliber?

Many Thanks,

Mark

Sounds like a 1899 Krag carbine? 30/40 Krag.
