75gr. bullets in 527varmint
« on: June 13, 2009, 07:20:47 AM »
Anyone here have any experience shooting 75grainers in the 1:9 twist varmint barrel?  I've got some 75gr moly coated a-maxs that I want to load for it, anyone got any good recipes using w748 or 3031? Thanks JR

thanks for the input, mine is making one big hole with 50s and 55s, awesome gun. wanted to try the 75s that I bought a couple of years ago for the mini and ar, but wont feed. hoping to use them in the new cz, guess it's time to experiment and find out myself. I''m sure I can get em stable, by getting them to  2700fps+ but wonder how long before they tumble.  My goal is 400yds, I'll let keep ya posted. JR

Where you useing the kevlar stocked varmit model? It is the only one with 1-9 twist.  Mine shot the 75 gr A max pretty well but it shot the 69 gr sierras a lot better.

The american is 1-12 twist it will not shoot the heavier bullets the varmint will with its 1-9 twist. 8)

My hog-back 527 CZ shoots 50 grn Hornady V-MAX into less than .500-MOA 24/7!!! Never have tried anything in heavier bullets. It takes care of crows, fox, coons and coyotes like a magic wond. 8)  ;D   ;D
