Refinished the old 500

I was surprised at the wood under all that God awful factory stain. The stock is a factory replacement that is about 15 years old and the forearm is the original to the gun. It's 30+ years old. It was mine, but my youngest son relieved me of it about 8 years ago.













It sure made the old girl look a lot better! I can't seem to get the pictures to do the wood justice though.

It looks good.  I have refinished 5 guns recently and the pictures never look as good as the actual gun.  Yours show a nicely refinished stock.

Thanks for the compliments guys. The stock is at the local smith now having a grind to fit Limbsaver recoil pad put on it. My son used it dove hunt this year for the first time. He said the original pad was like using concrete.
