Lyman GPR "Hair" Trigger Adjustment Screw
« on: October 13, 2003, 07:21:47 AM »
Does anyone have the screw size of the adjustment screw for the Lyman GPR?  I tried #2 and #3 screws but they are either too small or too large.

It looks as though the trigger pull could be significantly improved if the screw were a little longer.  It appears to be about .25" in length.

Lyman states that the screw is purposely left at the current length to discourage over sensitizing the trigger.

I don't know what size but have been told that a TC set trigger screw will fit. It will not help, much. I tried it. Better to get a trigger job.

Guys, I solved the "great" screw mystery.  The screw is a 2.5mm.  I ran across some packaged metric screws from my camera gear.  I laid in some extras a few years ago for my medium format camera.  The actual dimensions of the screws are 2.5x8mm.  Any 2.5mm will probably work.  These have a knurled head with an allen wrench fitting.

When I installed the screw, I hand tightened it all the way down.  Once you go so far, the rear trigger WILL NOT SET.  I backed out the screw until the rear trigger set again, and then further adjusted until it felt right.  I can use a little threadlock if I want to insure the screw doesn't move.

Thanks for the replies.
