Wonder If they weren't actually wolves? The LA times article said they ran away and a coyote was shot later that was believed to have been one of the two that attacked her. It's not the first time that the leftist media has skewed a story to influence readers. Sad story for sure.

What a terrible way to die. I'm sorry it happened.

Something doesn't seem quite right in the reporting though. I'd be interested to know what a coyote expert has to say about this. The thing I find immediately odd is that they would have been attacking as a pack. Do coyotes ever do that?

The previous post speculates on wolves and I'm inclined to agree, and if that's not possible, some kind of dog-coyote mix.

Familiarity breeds contempt.  It could be the animals had lost their fear of humans, due to constant close association.....?

Something's fishy about this story. I did web searches for references to coyote attacks. I couldn't find another case where an adult was attacked.

I guess I never thought of the lefty wolf love angle. But let me assure you coyotes do attack in packs, I personally saw a mule deer doe killed by a pack of coyotes in Colorado many years ago. The chance of a coydog mix is super rare and usually man induced. There are lots of rumors out there od coydog mixes, but I have never seen one that was non captive bred. One thing ALWAYS present on a coydog mix is a curl in the tail.

he told me this after i told him,, i sometime huntem close to the city limits,,an they don t respect new londons city limit lines..he didn t tell me not go after them though..
i can just hear the expert talkin now.. we have to remember they were here first..these same people think the death of an human is no more bad than the death of an animal..these times are predicted in the book..
