remington genesis capper
« on: November 12, 2009, 11:02:41 AM »
Anybody use a capper for their genesis?

will the u-view inline capper work for the genesis?  Hate to spend the $$ and find out it doesn't work.

you really dont need a capper for the genesis. Its a break open and very easy to prime. Now if you are just looking for something to store extra primers in, it would work fine for you.

the genesis has a the "torchcam" action.  I seem to have trouble getting the cap in there.  Maybe i just need more practice...lol, course having more caps on the ready would be idea.

Get a straight-line 209 capper such as the one sold by Traditions... http://www.traditionsfirearms.com/eshop/10Expand.asp?ProductCode=A1418  You can surely find one at a better price though.  First thing you do is get rid of that weird spring on the end and replace it with a key ring.  Works much better and you won't lose it.

A better deal at http://www.tdcmfg.com/cgi-bin/cart/agora.cgi?cart_id=12204.2820*jo0KF6&p_id=SL209&xm=on&ppinc=search2

The straight-line capper will work on just about any inline, including the Genesis.  You can bend it a little if desired to make the fit even easier.

PS: the U-view capper is about the most worthless capper on the market.  It probably would NOT work well at all for you.
WHUT?

The best capper I have ever used on tip-up/break action/drop block/swing block type actions is this one that T/C used to make. I don't know why but it seems they have discontinued this one a couple years ago.

It is made for 209's, but works equally well with the .25 ACP too. I just call it the injectomatic.

If you can still find one, it will be worth the effort.
