SK Jagd Standard Plus 22 LR ammo???

SK Jagd Standard Plus 22 LR ammo???Has any one tried this ammo?? The gunshop ordered Wolf MT and got this instead it is the same price as Wolf MT but is labeled a Practice Round instead of a match round. I shot it today in my Romanian 69 and it averaged .75 for 5 shot groups at 50 yards. I do not think it is not a bad round but for what I paid for it I can get Wolf MT for the same price if they ever get some in and the Wolf MT does a bit better in my gun. I could not break the .75 today even my Henry in 22 Mag that I have shot .5 before at 50 yards only turned in .75 but then I had a lesser power scope on it also I put a M8 4x Leupold on the Henry before I had a 3x12 Tasco on it. The compact Leupold is a nicer size for the lever action. I really have to get a better scope on the Romanian as it is a old Weaver 2.5x and nothing wrong with it but it does take all my concentration to shoot the targets with this scope just is not powerfull enough even though it does let me get good groups.  Here is a pic of the groups all are .75 Center to Center and the Henry group is the lower left the rest are the SK ammo. I should add the SK ammo is German made.

Said I never had much use for one, never said I didn't know how to use it.

That ammo is the same stuff as Wolf Match Target.  SK makes the ammo and then Wolf puts their label on it and ships it across the pond.  I haven't shot the flavors you are talking about but I have used Wolf Match Extra and have yet to shoot some SK Match which is supposed to be the same stuff.  Use whatever you're confident in because that is a big part of shooting anyway.

B - Koes, I am not so sure about that?? They use the same head stamp and are probably made in the same factory but they are different. The Both are owned and made  by Lapula so both are good ammo. The Standard plus is labeled as practice ammo and the Wolf MT is labeled as match though they are the same price so maybe it is a labeling thing. I do know that the Wolf MT shot a bit tighter for me though the SK groups at 50 yards were not bad. Jim

I shoot SK all the time now.  I use their Pistol Match in my Bullseye gun (Walther GSP) with almost one hole results.  I use the Plus for Sporter rifle and weekly Silhouette events/matches and just started shooting the Rifle Match.  The Rifle Match seemed to hold better groups, but the Plus shoots some pretty tight groups itself.  At 100 Meters/110 Yards (Rams in Silhouette) off hand both do well.   At the Nationals this year I shot the Gold and it worked extremely well, but then again it's around $89.00 a brick, which is still cheaper then the Eley Ultimate which I found always shoots the best groups in my guns.  Just wish I could afford to use it more   But, I allow myself one brick a year to shoot at the major events.

Now... Aguila ammo will also shoot fantastic groups in my guns and is very reasonable. Unfortunately my chambers are real tight and and I didn't like forcing the bolt closed.  If you haven't trird it you shooud give it a try.  If you can't find it locally heres the link http://www.aguilaammo.com/

Sk Standard Plus

JH45,   I shoot the Sk Standard Plus in my Sako Finnfire and find it to be very accurate in the Sako.   Also have one of Clark's Custom Ruger 77/22 that I shoot this ammo in.   I shoot rifle silhouette and find this to be an outstanding ammo for $ 2.00 per box.   Both my guns shoot the Sk under 1.00 @ 100 meters.  On a calm day the Sako Finnfire will shoot about 5/8" at 100 meters.   I never group my rifles at 50 yards like most folks, because the real test for 22 rimfire ammo is at 100 meters.  Almost any ammo will shoot half an inch at 50 yards  with a good gun and scope, but 100 meters will separate the good stuff from all the rest.  Occasionally I will get a flyer that opens up my group to about an inch,  but this is more accurate than I can shoot my rifle offhand most of the time.

I've shot lots of Eley Tennex and other expensive brands that cost upwards to $ 10.00 / box.   But  SK and Wolf will shoot almost as good and they are made by the makers of Lapua.....  These ammos are an excellent buy.   I bought 2 cases of the SK Standard plus and this is my main ammo.  I have several different brands but the SK is what I shoot in the matches.........Don
