extra barrel offer question
« on: November 04, 2009, 02:19:49 PM »
Just purchased my first handi rifle heavy barrel varmint .223  ;D Is there a time limit on the extra barrels you can get for the same frame any info would be appreciated. Thinking about .357 seems like it would be cheap fun to me.     Thanks in advance Tom

First time I have seen the question.  No, the only time limit would be if you waited until they are out of business.  Larry

What do you mean by time frame? You can send new frames in at any time for extra barrels. Some fo the older frames they will not fit barrels to, you can check the FAQ's for which ones. No telling on the time frame to get it back once you send it though. Billy

A couple of time limitss I can think of could be that NEF stops either the barrel program or stops making the barrel in the caliber you want.

I find life to be sort of like the gun show, if you want the gun in your hand, don't put in down and/or walk away.  Some other clown will for sure buy it.  :)

Another time limit might be if they discontinued making the frame in its present form.  Then the clock would start ticking on the barrel program.

I'd call first to make sure (maybe ???) that the barrel you want is in inventory and if not, when would it likely be available.  You can't go wrong with the .357....very accurate and versatile, especially if you ream it to .357 Maximum.

Sometimes you get hit with a deadline you didn't know was coming.
For instance, I sent a 1999 frame to Gardner last year, no trouble.

Now I'm hearing that Ilion won't take 1999 frames for high pressure barrels, has to be 2000 or newer.
