Standing corn

Went for a good long tour of the area I'll be slug hunting. Sure hope to see the combines get busy soon. There are a BUNCH of beans still out in the field. Might be a few good bucks left for ML season this fall.

Hunting standing corn is one of my favorite and most productive kind of whitetail hunting.   Pick a wet & windy day and just stalk thru the corn going across the grain and watching d0wn the rows for bedded deer.  I have shot lots of deer with both rifle and bow this way.  Its a lot better than sitting in a tree stand on a windy rainy day.

Here in south central MN we have a ton of standing corn too. Might be good if a few more of our little bucks get through the year.

went up to the families lake cabin north of alexandria today to pull the dock, saw only a few fields that were cut, and those were for spoilage ;) Beans still standing too. Corn prices gonna be high next year! I think most farmers are just going to take the insurance this year.

Yep, standing corn is productive for hunting. Lots of deer get taken that way.  Gotta add though, its a great way to get shot or shoot somebody too, with someone shooting into the corn.
