Increase accuracy in Mini 14
« on: November 02, 2009, 01:00:29 PM »
I have a 187 model year mini 14 ranch and it was a 3-4" moa shooter at best.  I saw a thread on internet that has a forum Perfect Union http://www.perfectunion.com/vb/showthread.php?t=69152
that has quite a few postings on making mini 14 shoot better.

So I got a flash hider from cheaper that dirt $9.95 and shrunk the group to about 2.5".  So they recommended getting a clamp on tri rail and attching a rod on the bottom to stiffen barrel, $9.95 for two. http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/SCP069-6.html
Used a 3/8" 6" sockit extention and bolted it on as per instructions.

Man, did that do the trick, I still can't believe it.  I was going to shell out $1200 for an AR.
At 25yd all holes were touching using Fiocchi 55gr and almost as good using some 55gr milsurp that I can,t remember where I got it.  Even the crappy wolf stuff shot very good.  Even after 10 shots the barrel was not hot, it must disappate the heat, no stringing at all.
