Second day to hunt on WHI and was walked over by others. I know this part of the risk of public hunting, but I know if I see another vehicle parked close to the area I want to hunt I will drive on. Today I had 2 out of state hunters park behind my truck and walk to a spot 75yrds away and set up. I shined my flashlight on them as soon as I saw them, but they didn't seem to mind setting up that close.

Oh well maybe this will help convince the wife we need to buy land of our own!

Yup then you can tell all those trespassers to go away you own the land. Hopefully you won't get shot and killed like the land owner currently in the news who tried to run off some trespassers and got killed for his effort.

Owning land is the way to go for me.  Leasing has become the norm but a few of us buy land.  I'm contemplating a second place on a river.  Sure helps to have good neighbors.  Something I didn't plan on, but happened on.  I've got 213 acres, and could always use more.  There's always a buddy wanting to learn to hunt.

BUTTS if I may ask where is this public land piece you speak of, just curious. Some people are just butt holes to be nice, more than likely if you would have actually talked to them all their equipment would be brand new. Basically I am saying it is not uncommon during rifle season to see a donkey or a calf strapped in a trailer next to a brand new ATV and hear them bragging about their perfect hunt and perfect shot. If I was a guessing man I would bet that if you had done that to them all hell would have broke loose.

Big, It was in the S.E., in Elk co. Good looking spot, shot a nice buck there a few years ago.
