Most of the deer hunts are closed,or darn close to being closed here in Arizona. The elk big elk hunts sshould start next Friday. How about some of you lucky deer hunters give some reports. You are not going to able to count on me , as I did poorly. :'(

Went on my first Mule Deer hunt near Silt Colorado this year. Hunted BLM land the first season. Seen lots of smaller bucks, the locals said weather was too warm for mature bucks to be moving. Seen several good bucks on private land but was unable to connect. After six days of hard hunting was able to take a 3X3, not huge but I was happy.

Bill that is centerfire rifle seasons. They are pretty limited here. We still have muzzleloader in December and January. You don't have a lot of time to get it done here. If the weather does not cooperate or have other varibles come into play, you can be SOL. The cow elk hunt was only8 days long. Most deer seasons are only two weeks. The desert mulies hunts were hampered with temps over 100 degrees this year. Makes a pretty miserable hunt. This comes along with the draught we have had for the last ten years or so The desert hunts used to be nice with daytime temps in the mid sixties to low seventies Been awhile since it's been that nice tho.
