Do you think the 336 is over priced?
« on: December 04, 2009, 12:59:55 PM »
Currently I see Marlin 336W is selling for $399 at academy.  I remember these guns used to be right  around $200 brand new in the not so distant past.  I love my Marlin and Winchester dearly.  I love the 30-30 caliber, but who would pay this price for one?

I think all guns are over priced now, but we have a week dollar so every thing is.

IMO the Marlins are still a good deal.  The only bolt actions I'd consider owning are about $300.00 more expensive.  I've quit buying new guns for the most part.

i wouldnt pay it, yu can still get the used ones if yu keep your eyes open for roun 200$+ range. after deer season before CHRISTmas is the best time to pik one up if yu need one.the new ones are actually fairly competively priced for a all steel and wood gun.dont guess i can think of another centerfire rifle without plastic on it for that price really, come to think of it.

When I was in Hattiesburg MS last August, they were $379.99 at Walmart  :o :o, Heck if I coulda I woulda bought two  ;)

Stopped at the local gun shop a couple months ago. The Marlin was priced at $239.95. Stopped yesterday thinking i would buy one. The price now is an even $400.  :o. Oh well the Winchester. Not sure what model was $500. Needless to say i didn't buy one. I have an extra H&R frame i think i will send in and have a 357 mag. barrel fitted to it. ;D.
