Mueller APV Reticle?

Hello,

I'm wondering if someone can tell me exactly how to use this reticle. I have a vague idea that a known object will appear between the thicker stadia at different distances.

What power do I set it on to do this?

Is the reticle a true 30/30?

What does 30/30 mean, anyway?

Any other info would be appreciated!

I believe 30-30 is just one scope maker's name for a standard plex reticle. That's really all the crosshair in my personal APV is. The distance between the thicker stadia will vary at each different power setting. I suspect you can get the info from Mueller on at least one distance and power but the rest you'll need to just play around with if you just gotta know.

To me that's grossly over complicating life to try to figure out such matters. Few critters are gonna hang around long enough to play such games and a rangefinder is far better than a scope for determining distance.
