me and my 444P let this nice six point walk tonight
« on: November 05, 2009, 03:51:23 PM »
my camera sucks, the deer was only about twenty yards away, of course I was busted he was staring at me the whole time.  I still could have hammered him   :o
we have an eight point minimum at my club, he was a healthy deer, gorgeous silver trimmed body, thick horns
he stepped out just at 1700

I agree with ya about the camera. It looks lke 75 yards. But nice pics anyway, thanks for the post.

One or two more years and he'll be a good deer, John. Thanks for sharing. BTW, I like the spot you picked out for your stand. Edge of treestands into a clearing.....exactly what I would have done.  :)

John, how many deer have you taken with the 444P? When I had mine, I took a few deer. Never had a bang-flop but they didn't go far and left a massive blood trail with just the regular Remington 240 gr factory load. Someone made me an offer I simply could not resist. The wood grain in the buttstock was the best I've ever seen for a mass produced rifle.

BTW, nice pics and I also agree that your stand site is great. Good luck getting that buck in the future.
