Yes it's still used but only rarely. Really it's never been all that active but each time someone posts folks will respond so folks are reading it's just that none seem willing to start new threads. Starting new threads is the life blood of a forum.

I am just getting back into the sport, having last shot in Sydney, Australia.  Now I live in Florida and I am looking to find a range (probably Hernando - closest to Tampa).

I also am looking to purchase a smallbore rifle setup (left hand) and handgun.....

22 is still challenging and a lot cheaper to shoot enough to get better.

This forum was used a lot several years ago. Unfortunately most of the shooters went to another site. As Graybeard said new posts are what keeps a forum alive. I check periodically but haven't seen to mauch activity, maybe we can get it going again

When I have questions I usually search and find the answer so I've only started a couple threads. I started shooting IHMSA a little bit in the spring and had a great time but only recently had a chance to shoot my first rimfire rifle match a couple months ago. Planning on shooting smei-regularly next year when the matches start again.

I shoot a High Standard 'Trophy' that's worked well for me but they're a bit spendy (mine was given to me). I shoot with a guy that's a newbie too and he uses a Ruger Mark II that he happened to have and he puts up some pretty good scores with it. I've heard the Browning Buckmark (?) is a decent gun too.

Although if you're buying a gun for this purpose maybe just go with a Contender in 22lr then from there you could switch barrels and shoot every category except revolver with the same gun.
