I think the Muslims respected us far more in the past when our morals were higher.  After the 60's when they started going down hill with drugs, free sex, etc, they stopped respecting us and terroism began.  With freedom comes responsibility.

And the Qarans that are discounted at the local book stores aren't canonical so you must pay > $50/copy to get a good one to read/understand what it means.

Fact is Isarel Corporate does need conflict in order to expand....and masses of 'correctly' spiritual oriented allies.

Oh, I'm all ears to hear the facts behind this gem of a factoid. Please elaborate further.

That's an accurate assessment of our present condition as a country Dixie Dude, but I think the reason we are having so many conflicts with the Muslims now, as opposed to the 60s, is before we made them all fabulously wealthy by developing their oil fields FOR THEM, they were pretty much chasing each other around on camels, and killing each other over tribal disputes.
Like Iraq we have attempted to sell, or force down their throat, what we have, which is an ever growing DECADENT culture, and they don't want it. They are perfectly satisfied with killing each other over a kid that drowned in a well over 1,000 years ago.

Gentlrmen (?)
This has been intresting.  Standing back and looking it appears that some here are using anecdote, some verifiable fact, some attitude, some faith, some opinion and some old long held personal grudges.  I intend to continue looking at this with intrest.  However I also intend to folllow my great grandmother's advice, "When the party gets too rough it's time to put your clothes back on and go home".  Or as a politician would put it "No Comment" for me on this forum in the future.  The rest of you try to play nice now.

We need to stop importing their oil by doing ALL of the following:

1) Build synthetic gas and diesel fuel plants using our 800 year supply of coal.
2) Build greenhouses to grow algae to produce algae oil for fuel.
3) Mandate fleet vehicles convert to natural gas using our 100 year TAPPED supply. (cuts 40% of imports) (cities, utilities, delivery vehicles)
4) Build more nuclear power plants to increase power production and shut down coal fired plants so the coal can be used for synthetic fuel.  (This will take about 20 years for 100 new power plants).
5) Mandate a switch over to diesel vehicles.  (27 gallons of diesel can be made from a barrel of crude oil, while only 20 gallons of gasoline can be made from a barrel).  This cuts more imports.  (85% of Germany's cars use diesel, so they can import less oil).

Items 2, 3, and 5 can be implemented within 5 years cutting probably 75% of the imports.  Others will take a little longer.

Results:

1) This will result in new jobs for Americans producing our own fuel with our own people.
2) It will cut greenhouse gases, especially using natural gas and less fuel with diesel engines.  Algae is carbon neutral since it takes carbon out of the air to grow but puts it back when it burns.
3)  Most of these new jobs will have health insurance benefits thus less dependence on Government dole.
4)  Government will take more money in with more people working to pay taxes.
5)  Islamic countries will get less money from us, thus depriving them of money they spend under the table supporting terroists.

Of course this is too sensible and easy to implement.

Also: CLOSE the BORDERS and send ILLEGALS home.

While I sympathize, the oil reserves on the Arabian peninsula can only support another 20 years at current demand factoring normal growth. So while were doing all of what you suggested I say we also import crude at higher rates and stockpile.

Also, you need to cut off use of all opium products in the US; let addicts die.

And, after you close the borders you'll need to take everyone on the unemployment lines and send them to the fields to do the jobs they didn't want to do before.

Probably ought to halt construction (hey more pickers for harvest) so we can let the forests grow a bit so in a few years we can go replace all the cheap furniture with real stuff, employing the carpenters again.

Reopen the factories to build auto parts we moved to Mex, Can.

But to do that you'll have to break the unions.

Revamp the education system to where it's okay not to go to college, so we can fill all the blue collar jobs opened up or created.

While were at it, let's pull out of OIF and OEF. Let our military take back all the high paying civilianized positions ... civilians can go out to the fields or to the reopened factories.

Well have to give up alot of our recreational pursuits since well have to increase efficiencies from 2.5 hours out of 8 to 4+ out of 8.

But well be independent!
