.338 Win mag. barrel?
« on: November 03, 2009, 04:21:54 AM »
Whats your oppinion on the Encore/Pro-Hunter .338WM bbl.
Does it kick the crap outta ya? Are they accurate? What bullet wt. works well?
Also, what would be a good affordable scope for this bbl.
Thanks in advance for all your comments  :)

I do not own one and would not like one in the Encore format!!!! Too much recoil for a light break open. JMHO
I am in the process of putting together a 338 Federal in an Encore.
If you do not mind recoil----It will be fine I am sure!!!

Good Luck

Dancoman, Yes I just bought one. No bullets no scope..yet.
I got it used off a fella here in Canada for a future trip up north for moose, elk and caribou. The only other calibers I have for my Encore are .270, .308 & 209x50.  I figured I needed a magnum so I went with the .338cause it was different than .300 & 7mm  ;D
I probably won`t shoot it alot, in fact I know I won`t, just zero!
Cheers
