Grip safety?

Did all 1970 era Combat Commanders have the short(barely past the frame) grip safeties or were some fitted with the longer grip safeties?
I've notice several series 80 Commanders with the longer ones but, memory fades with age about the earlier guns. Bill Layton posted some pics of what I'm calling the longer grip safety in the thread linked here:

I suggest Brownell's catalogue--there are a number of variations.
Wilson, Brown ,etc.
