The 12th of November and we haven’t had a frost YET, I walked out to the garden this morning and noticed I still have bunches of green tomatoes on the vines. The recent rains rejuvenated them and they are producing like crazy. We may have a frost (light freeze) Sunday night, so Saturday I will pull all the green tomatoes, those that are not fried will be made into Chow-Chow.
Deer season open this past Saturday, about 8:30 my son killed a nice (unusual) 9 point it was 78 degrees at the time, you have to process them quickly in this weather. Saturday just before dark I killed a fairly nice eight-point; it was up over 80 degrees by then.
My son’s deer was almost 28 inches wide, none of the tines were over four inches long, the kid at the processing plant called it a low-rider.
