Does[or has]anyone used "Wonder Powder"anti-hydroscopic additive with their black powder-especially their priming powder in flintlocks?
How well does the stuff work?

hans Is this "Wonder Powder"anti-hydroscopic additive a white powdery stuff? The reason I ask is that we tried adding some sort of powder to our priming powder to make it less hydro-scopic. But it did have a tendency to cause a slight hangfire. So we began using 3fg instead of 4fg when hunting in more damp (foggy etc.) conditions and changing priming powder every 30-45 mins.

Just use the real stuff. The fad stuff will be off the market just about the time you like it.

This "Wonder Powder" by RMC is a white powder.Supposedly also good for floating dry flies, etc.
At least in my Siler locks,FFFg will work as a priming powder.
For all hunting,I cellophane tape the muzzles to keep rain, crud out.

It sounds like the same stuff we had. You might want to try this sometime; use some 3fg in other types of locks besides just the silers. I KNOW it will work in Silers as that's what I use all the time in mine. I also find that by doing this I don't have to have priming horn along with me.
