Ruger Standard auto grips
« on: October 28, 2009, 09:03:32 AM »
Got a great deal on a Ruger Standard auto yesterday. After buying a 10-22 with a Tapco stock I knew it need a mate and a good friend had the Standard had a heck of a deal. But was wondering if anyone makes aftermarket grips for it. Can find them all day long for the Mk II & III but haven't seen anything for the Standard auto.
Wondering if I can cut out the hole for the magazine button on a set meant for a Mk II and use them. Any thoughts?

No, the screw holes are not in the same location on the grip frames of the Standard and Mark series.  Sometimes grips for Standards show up on flea-bay.

I have a set of faux stag horn grips that fit a Standard model that I'm not using.  PM me if you are interested.

Thanks but I jumped the gun. My friend and I made the deal but I hadn't seen it. Got it last nite and it has some great aftermarket grips on it. Thanks for the offer though.

Well right now my computer is fried and I'm on my boss's for 5 minutes. LOL!!  Hopefully I'll have mine back up and going soon and can post some.  Shot it yesterday and was very pleased with it.

Don't know about the standard, but I get MK II checkered, wood grips from Brownell's and modify them with a Dremel tool for my MK III. Work great.
