Rebuilding a 1903a3?
« on: December 13, 2009, 02:19:36 PM »
I recently traded for a 1903a3 rebarreled in 243 caliber. I've been thinking I'd like to find out what it might cost me to try to covert it back to its oridginal configuration. I guess I would need everything but the receiver magazine/trigger guard and bolt. Would also need trigger assembly and safety. Anyone have any idea what it would cost?

Can we see pictures?  If you need everything but the receiver, just sell it and buy a complete rifle.  I have several o3A3s and didn't pay more than $500.   They are out there.  Be patient.

I did some swapping to get the rifle as cash is something I don't have a lot of. I got the rifle because I wanted a good coyote round and the .243 is, in my opinion, a really great coyote round. The fact that it was built on an 03a3 action was just a plus for me. I've owned a lot of surplus rifles and liked them all, but never had an 03a3 before. I might just keep the .243 as is and keep my eyes open for an oridginal 03a3. Thanks for the advice.
