hammer wount come back when no barrel is in it

ok i just got a encore an i havent receaved the barrels yet an i was woundering with out any barrel on the gun with the hammer come back at all?
on mine it wount at all

On the inside of the frame, I believe on the right side, just below the face of the breach block is a small lever. If you push it down you should be able to cock the hammer.

I believe it is not recommended you dry-fire an Encore.

that is correct. you will be able to cock the hammer when the barrel is installed.
