? about 36 cal.

Does any one know the range for the 36 cal I was wondering how far you would use it for varmint hunting I don't like the idea of a 50 cal going through the hide of a yote?

I'm not going to deal with naysayers that have little actual field experience by getting into yardages that is speculative on so many factors, way more so with a small caliber muzzy than a laser guilded missle launcher shooting modern metallic cartridges.   But I will say my two 36 caliber traditional sidelocks shooting PRB are my first choice when calling predators and varmint hunting with a front stuffer.   They offer a good balance between acceptable range and minimum pelt damage.   A 40 would be a great choice too.

Awh come on Ladobe, spill the beans, I'm one of those that has no experiance with the .36 in a practical hunting app,, but I know guy's can get great accuracy.
Can ya git a 100 or better out of it?
It might not be DRT terminal ballistcs like a varment grenade but??

I have a .40 LR poorboy kit I started years ago but got shelved do to time constraints

A fellow on another forum has described how he shot a coyote in the ear at 125 yards with a round ball from a .32 Crockett rifle.
So based on that and depending on the barrel length, accuracy and load, a .36 should probably be able to reach out to at least 100 yards anyway.
Plus there's always the .36 conicals.
