If HS7 is the same as Win. 571 and HS6 is the same as Win. 540 . Is HS5 the same as Win. WSL powder?

Since Hogdgon has taken over the branding/mfg of Winchester propellants there has been some consolidations between the H propellants and the W propellants. I do know that 414 and 760 are the same as well as 110 and 296. A free giveaway loading manual (brochure) that Hogdgon places in various reloading supply retailers shows the same loading data for certain propellants that bear the "H" and "W" brands. I was told by Hogdgon that certain propellants are indeed the same product. The ball type which is the W type propellants from what I understand are the only ones at this time.

Maybe others can answer your specific questions on the propellants you asked about.

Back when Winchester was Winchester and Hodgdon was Hodgdon and the twain hadn't yet met, Winchester made a shotshell powder AA-473. Does Hodgdon have an equivalent?

Nope and neither does Winchester not exactly at least tho they do have some close approximations.

  Bach in the 1970's I use to shoot  alot of Winchester powders , AA 452 & AA 473 I use to buy them by the 10 lb. keg for $ 26.00 a keg  ;D  I used 571 and HS 7 for 28 ga. hunting loads now there all gone and you got to use something they make now.
Aint it allways like that, you find something you like and they quit makin it !   ???      Jed

i just used up my dads old win 630 powder in my 38 special loads. hardly even heard of powder right there.
