Checking Deer
« on: August 11, 2009, 10:55:51 AM »
Did you notice that you can now check deer online?  I saw it in the new regs and curious how it works.  Sure beats long lines and wasted time at some run down convienience store.

I guess you just print a carcus tag?  Any ideas on how this works?

I have not finished reading the new regs yet, but that sounds like a good idea to me.  That much quicker you can get the meat in the freezer.  I will see what I can find out.

Here was my response from the wildlife dept.:We will have online checking of deer, elk and turkey this coming fall.
Deer checked online will not be required to be checked at a physical
check station.  More information will be made available as the season
approaches

According to the Okla. dept. wildlife main web site, the link to be able to check in  your deer on line will be up on Oct. 1st. I am looking forward to it. I hope there won't be to many problems with it.    Jack

Yes in Oklahoma we are allowed 2 bucks and 4 does, for a season total of 6 deer. However we have a Holiday Antlerless Deer gun (Special Antlerless Deer Gun) that does not count as part of the total season limit. More meat for the freezer.   Jack
