Barrel dilema

Ok I am thinking a 45-70 tube and a .444 tube. Any suggestions. I know the bullet selection is better for the45-70,but kinda like the difference factor for the .444  Also I want to build a 25-35. Im thinking a 12 gauge tube and get a .25 barrel,machine the shank for a press fit in the 12 gauge stub. Then weld the tube to the stub, then profile the barrel to the old taper style. Should not be an issue for the extractor,as a 30-30 one will work. I'm also thinking a 25-35 Tomcat,which is an improved 25-35. Any comment/ideas?

Having a 25-35 is a dream for me!!  Its such a perfect caliber for our handis!!!

The 45-70 is yet another natural, but that one is easy.. go buy it already!!!

This is not a dilemma, just do it!!

  I bought a Supor light 223 Handi, sent the barrel to wayne York (A addvertiser On here)
  He rebored recamber It to 25-35. Also sent 30-30 ejecter, He did for a litte over $300.00

others are correct, the 45-70 is a requirement if you have Handis. Otherwie follow your dreams, I have a .35 Remington barrel and a .45 ACP Handi barrel. I also have a .22 WMR Versa Pac barrel...go for the gusto....<><....:)

i  am  thinking  about getting  the  444

it  is  ok...i  have  3  45-70  now  and the required  357mag  along with some others

the  16 inch  45-70  is the closest thing to any  custom  work

I've got .45-70 and .445. You can shoot .44 Special and .44 Magnum in the .445, but not in a .444.

There is a wide variety of rifle bullets available in .458, not so in .429.

This is like the proverbial blond vs. brunette thing. How can you go wrong with either?

I think if you do a little research, you'll find there are a wide variety of bullets for both chamberings when you consider both jacketed and cast bullets. Go with either (or both) and let the chips fall where they may.
