Latch shelf burr =? smidge of side wiggle?

Just traded for a used high pressure barrel. Told it was low mileage, not fitted, maybe 200 rounds, and shot well. Tried it on the only receiver I could. Locked up with no gap. Alllllmost perfect. Grabbing the barrel (no forend) and the unloaded receiver and shaking, I got a tiny bit of side to side knocking. Took a closer look. Pivot, barrel face and most of latch shelf had no blue. And something I have not seen. A burr on the underside of the barrel latch shelf.

How does that burr affect lockup?

Do I need to take out the burr and flat file the shelf before matching it to a receiver?

If it is on the bottom of the barrel lug, it has no affect on anyting.  Just file it off it is bothering you.  Larry

 I agree, it sounds like this durr is not on the latch its on the bottom of the barrel. Like Larry said, it effects nothing if that is truly where it is located. IF its on the top edge of the barrel shelf or on the bottom of the latch (in the receiver) then YES IT WILL EFFECT lockup and needs to be addressed.

If your worried post up a pic and we will know straight away if its going to be a problem or not.
